Résumé de l'auteur

[Source : Introduction] "The Academic Network of European Disability experts (ANED) was established by the European Commission in 2008 to provide scientific support and advice for its disability policy Unit. In particular, the activities of the Network support the development of the EU Disability Strategy and practical implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. One of the key activities is to contribute to the evidence base used for monitoring and evaluating progress on disability policies in European countries. Developing comparative indicators of policy implementation will be particularly important in relation to implementing the UN Convention and EU Disability Strategy. [...] In this report, we present first the methodology of our work and then a discussion of available data enabling us to construct a statistical indicator for each proposed item."

Commentaire du Centre Ressources

ANED coordinates the academic support to the concrete implementation of the UN Convention in Europe. This study focuses on the feasibility to elaborate statistical indicators on 7 determined issues (p3). This work is most important to check through practical statistical data, the implementation of the UN Convention in Europe, mentioned in Article 33 of the UN Convention. It will be useful for the institutions and European NGOs.
