International study on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities – Employement, Work and Vocational Education & Training

This Report is composed of three main sections:

• Social Indicators: The Zero Project Survey 2016–2017 consisted of 21 questions covering the most important themes of the UN CRPD, but with an additional focus this year on employment and vocational and educational training. After five years of Social Indicator research, for the first time data trends are published as well as comparisons between world regions. The Social Indicators section also includes analysis of data availability on youth employment with regards to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, and of the “data gap” of persons with disabilities living in institutions – another reference to the SDGs.
• Innovative Practices: 56 Innovative Practices have been selected, and 13 common solutions and “threads” have been identified.
• Innovative Policies: 11 Innovative Policies have been selected, and 13 ways to create a significant impact have been identified.

Le Zero Project a été initié en 2011 par la fondation Essl.  Après un premier cycle de recherche de 4 années entamé en 2013, ce rapport entame un nouveau cycle de recherche autour du thème de l’emploi et de la formation professionnelle.

Ce rapport est intéressant pour sa richesse en termes de contribution, avec un réseau de 3000 experts issus de plusieurs secteurs au sein de 178 pays et des collaborations avec de grandes organisations internationales.

Les participants au projet ont contribué à l’évaluation, la pré-sélection et au vote des modèles et pratiques les plus remarquables en matière de handicap, en s’appuyant sur les critères de l’innovation, de l’impact et des perspectives d’évolution. Au total, 56 pratiques innovantes et 11 politiques innovantes ont été primées.

Cette initiative est également intéressante car elle propose des indicateurs de mesure de l’implémentation de la Convention relative au droit des personnes handicapées de l’ONU à travers 120 pays.

Ce document pourra être utile aux organisations, ainsi qu’aux porteurs de projets.

The Zero Project was initiated in 2011 by the Essl Foundation. After a first four-year research cycle started in 2013, this report begins a new research cycle around the theme of employment and vocational training.

This report is interesting for its wealth in terms of contribution, with a network of 3,000 experts from several sectors in 178 countries and collaborations with major international organizations.
