This report provides a picture of the key issues facing nurses and allied health professionals in the provision of services for children with complex needs across Scotland. It draws on data from four health board areas and links together information from workforce development plans, a survey practitioners and interviews with practitioners and managers.

Ce document est un rapport sur les soins apportés aux jeunes aux besoins complexes du point de vue des professionnels du médico-social. Pour faire ce rapport, les auteurs ont interrogés des travailleurs du médico-sociaux (focus group et interviews individuels) ainsi que leurs managers. Ce rapport nous apprend que les professionnels du médico-social ont les moyens d’intervenir convenable pour aider les personnes handicapées mais néanmoins, il reste encore des efforts à faire dans la communication entre les différents professionnels. 
Ce rapport intéressera les personnes qui dirigent les professionnels du médico-social afin d’avoir les clefs pour que les différents services soient efficaces et en adéquation avec les besoins des personnes handicapées.

This document is a report on care provided to young people with complex needs from the point of view of medico-social professionals. The authors interviewed medico-social workers (through focus groups and individual interviews) and their managers. The report informs us that medico-social professional have suitable means to help people with disabilities. However, more effort is needed to improve communications   between the different professionals of this field. This report is relevant to managers of medico-social professionals, providing advice to better coordinate the different services in ways which are compatible with the needs of people with disabilities.
